Samsung is currently in the process of releasing the latest iteration of custom Android skin, One UI 6.0 for eligible Galaxy devices. On the flip side, the firm is also preparing to unveil the intermediate version of its user interface, One UI 6.1, in the first half of 2024.
This highly anticipated update will be based on the Android 14 operating system and will come pre-installed with the Galaxy S24 series. One UI 6.1 is expected to bring significant improvements and new features to enhance the user experience on Samsung devices.
Along with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has also begun One UI 6.1 testing for its popular and latest Galaxy S23 devices. This approach hints that Galaxy S23 device owners will be the first to grab the offerings of One UI 6.1 software after Galaxy S24.
One UI 6.1 Features
Samsung has not officially released the features of One UI 6.1, but it has revealed some of the prominent capabilities of Galaxy S24 Ultra, such as the Zoom Anyplace. This camera tech will be supported by 200MP ISOCELL sensor and Qualcomm’s AI Engine.
Based on Android 14, the One UI 6.1 may also bring some significant changes and useful features for the popular Good Lock Modules.
Walmart also revealed some AI features One UI 6.1 for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra and the list includes Live Translate, Nightography Zoom, Generative Edit, High Resolution, and Screen Display.
One UI 6.1 Eligible devices
As we mentioned earlier, the One UI 6.1 will come pre-loaded on Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. After that, it will be gradually expanded to more devices such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Foldabels and some affordable phones.

One UI 6.1 Expected Release date
Samsung will reportedly unveil the Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software on January 17, 2024, in the US.
