Samsung Electronics decides to focus on customer satisfaction instead of cost reduction from next year

On December 15, 2022, Samsung Electronics conducted a meeting to discuss the smartphone strategy for next year. And as per the information, the company has decided to focus more on customer satisfaction instead of the cost reduction process.

The company has planned to avoid profitability-oriented development and marketing strategies such as cost reduction of the firm and concentrate on encouraging customer satisfaction through the optimization of semiconductors for high-performance smartphones.

During the DX (Device Experience) division management meeting, the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics Han Jong-hee stated that all the departments should think about methods to maintain the competitiveness of smartphones without getting hooked on the cost reduction process.

With regards to Vice Chairman Han, a Samsung Electronics official expressed, “Cost reduction is something that even latecomers like Chinese companies can do without difficulty.” And it’s just like the ‘sandwich’ situation in which Apple runs away and Chinese companies chase.

This new strategy of Samsung Electronics will bring a big shuffle to the organization. Further, the rebuilt strategy of 2023 also reflects that the administration will try to narrow the gap with Apple in the premium smartphone market and regain consumer trust.
