Recently, a new test firmware has been spotted on the CheckFirm app which reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A52s is testing the One UI 4.1.1 update internally. This is an indication that a new custom OS is coming soon with lots of new features in this popular mid-range phone.

According to the information of a Reddit user, the Samsung Galaxy A52S One UI 4.1.1 test firmware has the build version A528BXXU1DVH2. However, apart from that, there is no other information on the matter, the customer did not share the region where the update is being tested.

Earlier, the same smartphone was also seen testing the flagship Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. It looks like two big One UI updates are being prepared for the devices that are going to be released one after the other. Obviously, One UI 4.1.1 will be the first.

The Galaxy A52S was launched last year. It entered the markets with Android 11-based One UI 3. x. Later that year, it received the first major update in the form of Android 12-based One UI 4.0 and then One UI 4.1 this year.

Android 13-based One UI 5 will be its second flagship OS while Android 14-based One UI 6 will be the last. However, just three Android updates aren’t enough for such a powerful device as this year’s A series phone, the Galaxy A52, should also support 4 Android upgrades.

Galaxy A52s will receive One UI 4.1.1 Taskbar.

One UI 4.1.1 introduces a key feature called Taskbar to make multitasking easier for foldable devices. Recently, it has been reported that older Galaxy phones will also get the taskbar feature with the One UI 4.1.1 update.

Since the Galaxy A52s will also get One UI 4.1.1, will it get the taskbar feature? Well, nothing can be clarified at the moment. If this feature is designed for all Galaxy phones and not specifically for foldable or tablets, then the A52s will definitely get it.
