Google Maps could ditch Driving Mode feature in 2024

After the removal of the Assistant Driving Mode Dashboard, Google now seems to be planning to ditch the Driving Mode feature from the Maps app in 2024. This news may disappoint some users, who rely on the Driving mode capability of Google Maps on Android.

According to the details,  in an APK Insight post, some strings of code reveal that Google Maps Driving Mode will bid farewell in February 2024. The strings of codes found in the latest Google Maps app v14.52 hint that the Driving Mode optimized UI is all set to be removed from the Android app.

The Driving mode in Google Maps is a feature that can be accessed after starting driving navigation and appears as a black bar at the bottom of your phone screen. There’s quick access to Assistant, Google Maps, and a launcher for compatible music, podcasts, audiobooks, and other streaming apps.
