What’s the major upgrade in Galaxy Z Fold 4 compared to Z Fold 3?

At the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2022, Samsung unveiled the most awaited Galaxy Z Fold 4 along with Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and the Buds 2 Pro. This newly launched device comes with lots of enhancements to its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the successor of the last year’s launched Galaxy Z Fold 3. The device comes with several new features, functions, customization options, and much more. It means the comparison of both the foldables can be easily done, as one of the major upgrades comes with the Operating System.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 / Galaxy Fold 3 – Display

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 features a 7.6 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2x Infinity Flex display with a 120Hz refresh rate, further,  it equips with 6.2 inches AMOLED cover display with a punch hole for a selfie camera. Whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with the same 7.6 inches, unfolded and 6.2 inches folded display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

In the camera department, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has evolved some enhancements, the device comes with triple camera setup including a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. For selfies, the inner side has a 4MP under-display camera and the device features a 10MP camera in the front.

On the other side, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 also features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 12 MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle, and a 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom. Also, the device features a 4MP under display and a 10MP front camera for selfies.

Now if we talk about the core of the smartphone, there is no great difference seems in the battery of both the foldables as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 features a 4,400mAh battery with support of 25W fast charging, and 15W wireless charging. Whereas, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 features the same 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging but a slightly less 10W wireless charging.

In the terms of processor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 features a recently launched Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. On the other side, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with Snapdragon 888 5G processor paired with 12GB RAM,  and 256GB, 512GB of storage. Whereas the Fold 4 also offers 1TB storage variant for your convenience.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 / Galaxy Fold 3 – Software

Now here comes the major change which is in the software department the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes powered by Android 12L based One UI 4.1.1 custom skin which is especially designed for foldables while the Galaxy Z Fold 3  was launched with Android 11, and it’s currently running on Android 12 based One UI 4.1.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with three color options including Phantom Black, Grey Green, and Beige. Whereas, the last year’s launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 also comes with three color options which include Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. Among both the Phantom Black color is common.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with eSIM support, a side-faced fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB-C, and AKG-tuned dual speakers, just exactly the same as Galaxy Z Fold 3 features.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 / Galaxy Fold 3 – Price

Considering the price, so the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a starting price of $1799. Whereas, Fold 3 cost $1755 which is less than the recently launched Fold 4. So as we saw in several leaks earlier the Galaxy Z Fold 4 really comes with a price hike of $45.
