Galaxy S9 and Note 9 owners, sit patiently, the wait is almost over! However, despite losing their grandeur, the ships raise a hope that these once large-flag ships may survive to navigate the future. Despite the intensive efforts of Noble developers for the ROM, it is possible that these devices will taste the future with the “unofficial” Galaxy AI and One UI 6.1 updates coming next month.
Galax AI, a suite of advanced on-device and cloud AI technologies that has been exclusive to users for some time, is finally available with the S24. Meanwhile, recently released flagships like the S23 and Z Fold 5 are already harnessing the power of this feature. However, the upcoming S9 and Note 9 will soon be integrated with Snapdragon X65, which may face some hardware limitations.
Due to this, the old soldiers became alive again. Visualize features e.g. Circle to Search which provides a visual search of the web, Chat Assist which provides real-time translation for chats, and AI-generated wallpapers that can enhance your smartphone experience like nothing you’ve used before.
However, there is a catch. Unlike the official release which actually flashes the ROM automatically, this one requires a custom flash (Noble ROM 4.1) by hand from its users. Although this technique can save money, it requires professional skills and if applied incorrectly, can result in your phone turning into a “bricked” state. So, proceed with caution!
We can view this information as evidence that such devices remain in service for a long time due to the creativity of the developer group. While Samsung has unitarily discontinued software support for these models, unusual cases like Noble ROM are much-needed bridges, giving older flagships a chance to show off their flagship essence. The choice now lies with S9 and Note 9 users: should they proceed with removing the ROM and experience the flavor of the future or stick with their current setup that they may or may not be accustomed to?
