Samsung has begun serving the fixes and improvements of the January 2024 security update for Galaxy Z Flip 5G devices. However, the patch is already live for other foldable models including Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 3.
Being a regular monthly patch, the update didn’t bring any new features to your 2020 foldable device, but it ensures that your old flagship phone is up to date and protected with the most recent security protocols. It will also enhance security and boost stability grades for improved experience.
The January 2024 security maintenance release further mentions fixes for over 75 vulnerability exposures including 1 critical, 68 high, and 6 moderate levels of CVEs and 5 SVE items related to the camera, the secure folder, the biometrics, the Wi-Fi, and the Bluetooth.
Accordingly, the January 2024 update is currently released for carrier-locked units of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US and it can be identified via the build version F707USQS6IXA2. To install the latest update visit Settings > Software Update > Download & Install.
