Samsung’s 6th generation foldable smartphones, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6, will soon be launched with a bold strategy to disrupt this market. Samsung smartphones are expected to take a secondary line in chips, which is a big change from the usual Snapdragon conversation being singled out as dominant.

Some sources like Chosun spread the rumor that the Exynos 2240 chipset may be provided by Samsung in these devices in the domestic market. The changing nature of the US dollar has been cited as the reason for these changes, with Samsung expected to continue its previous process of in-house development of the chipsets used in the Galaxy S24 series.

Still, this doesn’t mean that Snapdragon variants will be eliminated as a result. While the US and Canada are projected to continue their Snapdragon preferences, we may see a shift towards MediaTek phones or cheaper Snapdragon devices. While European demand for Snapdragon may increase, the availability of the variant may be at risk.

There is a US variant of the Z Flip 6 that has been spotted on the Geekbench GPU database, which suggests that it has an Adreno 740 integrated GPU. Samsung has unveiled the chipset here, which has the same graphics performance as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, underscoring Samsung’s ethos of delivering similar, remarkable performance across all its products.

The fact that Samsung has decided to extend its Exynos flagship processors to 2024 instead of buying chips from other companies like TSMC shows that it is a flexible company that can respond to any turbulent events, especially hardware costs. Through the use of a dual-chipset approach, Samsung attempts to integrate the two objectives by combining efficient cost management and high system performance, as well as empowering itself for Snapdragon SoCs in case of future negotiations with Qualcomm.
