Three weeks ago we entered the second quarter of this year and started receiving market research from a number of well-known companies. In a recent update, analysts at Counterpoint reported on the Q1 2022 global smartphone market report, reaffirming Samsung’s importance.
As per the Counterpoint report, Samsung led the global smartphone market with a market share of 20% in Q1 2022. However, it is 2% lesser than the last year’s market performance (22% share) of the Korean tech giant.
Apple, on the other hand, managed to save 2nd place with 18% of the total market share, meanwhile, it is 1% higher than the same period last year. Xiaomi, meanwhile, remains the third-largest smartphone maker with a market share of 12%.
On the fourth and fifth rank, Counterpoint placed Oppo and Vivo with 10% and 9% of the global market share, respectively. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung lost its top position to Apple in Q4, 2021 due to iPhone 13 series launch.
