One UI 5.0 Fingerprint Animation

Samsung One UI 5.0 Fingerprint Recognition Animation

The first beta update of Samsung One UI 5.0 is live for Galaxy S22 users in select countries. While there are many new features and changes are noticeable in the latest version, Samsung hasn’t focused on animations, the One UI 5.0 fingerprint animation changes are minor.

Samsung has made a lot of improvements in the area of fingerprint recognition over the years. Last year, Samsung made a major change to the fingerprint scanner animation with Android 12-based One UI 4.0. However, the company continues to offer the same animation with One UI 4.1 as well.

Meanwhile, users are really bored with the same animation and were hoping for some modification on this side as well. Several Galaxy users reached out to the Samsung community saying that they want the new fingerprint animation with One UI 5.0.

One UI 5.0 Fingerprint Animation

Samsung has always been known to take care of its users and their demands and works accordingly. But the company did not meet this demand of the users and instead of the new animation, Samsung modified the old animation which is negligible.

Samsung One UI 5.0 brings very minor changes to the in-display fingerprint recognition animation compared to One UI 4.1. The One UI 4 version shows an external waveform when the phone is unlocked via a fingerprint scanner. On One UI 5.0, this wave only has a rapid twisting effect that keeps rotating as the wave expands.

This is most visible on light wallpapers while darker wallpapers may not reflect the change as effectively. This is just a cosmetic change and nothing can be seen on the new version, which is disappointing as many other OEMs like OnePlus offer a set of fingerprint animations to choose from.
