Just after a few weeks, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S24 series packed with upgraded software and hardware capabilities, Therefore, one of the prominent features of these devices was satellite connectivity, but sadly this capability seems to be ditched this time.
According to the information, SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ recently began testing the Galaxy S24 network connection. The three mobile carriers received the Galaxy S24 Ultra model and are evaluating whether it operates properly in domestic networks or not.
Based on the testing, it appears that the satellite connectivity, that allows emergency messages to be transmitted even in shaded areas will not be installed on Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, this news may disappoint some users who were excited about this prominent feature.
To be mentioned, this function is a service that can send a rescue notification signal using an L-band frequency band satellite in an emergency. Also, the network interconnection test is the final procedure before commercial sales, separate from institutional preparations.
An industry insider said,
- I understand that Samsung Electronics is preparing to install a satellite communication function capable of two-way service in its next-generation model.
