Samsung May 2023 security update rolling out for Galaxy S23 series

Samsung starts rolling out the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. The latest security patch is already rolling out in a number of markets including Poland.

Consumers can verify the May 2023 security update via PDA build version S911BXXS1AWD1, S916BXXS1AWD1, and S918BXXS1AWD1 for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, respectively.

Last month, Samsung served major camera firmware to the Galaxy S23 series along with a number of flagship models. Some issues related to camera performance are yet to be resolved, while the May OTA appears to be including just improvements for security and privacy.

As per May 2023 patch details, the fresh security maintenance release brings fixes for over 55 common vulnerability exposures and 21 Samsung vulnerability exposures to maintain security on Galaxy smartphones.

How to update:

You can force update installation on your Galaxy S23 smartphone by navigating to system Settings, then tapping on Software update, followed by Download and install.
