Samsung June 2022 security update brings camera improvements for Galaxy S22 in the US

Samsung started releasing the June 2022 Android security patch update for the Galaxy S22 series smartphones earlier this month. Recently Samsung expanded the reach of this update to the United States users with some camera improvements.

The Galaxy S22 June 2022 update improves the sharpness and contrast of still images. It further improves the automatic white balance (AWB) performance so that whites appear more natural while capturing images of puppies.

Further, this update improves portrait mode performance, as well as optimizes memory for recording videos and the overall camera performance. It also fixes the bug that stopped the Single Take camera feature after capturing just one shot.

Samsung’s June 2022 security patch details mentioned fixes for over 60 privacy and security-related issues and exploits. Among these, 48 of these CVE items are from Google including 5 Critical, 39 High, and 1 Moderate in addition to 1 already included and 2 not applicable on One UI.

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S22 camera improvements update is released for the carrier-locked models in the US. However, the OEM won’t let the unlocked carrier users wait for too long. Also, it is worth noting that this firmware is accessible to Xfinity Mobile’s network only.
