Samsung Galaxy S22 gets August 2022 security update with 13 stock app upgrades

Samsung is rolling out a new software update for Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra smartphone owners that install the August 2022 Android security patch in India. The update brings improvements to system security and stability as well as fixes common bugs and issues affecting the user experience.

According to the company’s August 2022 security patch description, the update addresses more than a dozen vulnerabilities found in Google and 31 exposures affecting Samsung apps and One UI to provide a more connected experience. These vulnerabilities include a Samsung dialer, Bluetooth connectivity, DesktopSystemUI, Wi-Fi service, a slew of Samsung DeX-related improvements, and more.

Apart from these, the latest Galaxy S22 series firmware also updates 13 stock apps. These app upgrades are meant to enhance the overall device functionality and provide seamless performance to the users.

The list of applications is as follows:

  4. PENUP
  5. Samsung Internet
  6. Samsung Health
  7. Samsung Members
  8. SmartThings
  9. Samsung Pay
  10. Samsung TV Plus
  11. Calculator
  12. Smart Switch
  13. Voice recorder

In addition, Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users are getting the August 2022 security patch in India with One UI build versions S901EXXU2AVG6, S906EXXU2AVG6, and S908EXXU2AVG6. It has an updated package size of around 530 MB.

It will notify you as soon as your phone receives this update. However, if you haven’t received an update notification yet, you can check it manually through Settings. From here, enter the Software Update section and tap on Download and Install. Following some of the instructions mentioned on the screen will direct you to the latest changes.
