While still being able to charge at your home or your office space, the next generation of electric vehicles will enable you to add power much faster than before. This spring, people saw the debut of Samsung’s new Galaxy M55, the company’s first mid-range handset with an extremely fast 45W charging system. Apart from the fact that this phone is unique in itself, it is the first Samsung phone that naturally comes with a 45W USB-C cable in the box.
This is a big issue because Samsung still supplies a cable with its phones; However, this is just a normal wire that is compatible with their 25W slow charger. The heavy gauge of the 45W cable is reflective of the higher amperage required for faster charging rates.
I think this is a good step taken by Samsung. These have a charging port but the charger is not included with the phone. However, if you wish to purchase an external 45W charger, you can easily utilize the full charging capacity of the phone. Well, how about another super-fast cable to complement yours?
So, what is 45W charging? It’s up to you what you want. Although 25W to 45W isn’t a huge difference for a fully charged battery, it may take away the minutes you need in the first half hour. Samsung hasn’t announced actual charging times yet, however, our tests showed that charging the phone from 0 to 100% speed with a 45W cable required a total of 70 minutes, which is about the same as the Galaxy A55. Charge time is 15 minutes less in comparison. Fully charge in less than 85 minutes with a 25W charger.
