Samsung-LG XR headsets

Samsung and LG, are teaming up to develop a new generation of Extended Reality (XR) headsets powered by Qualcomm’s cutting-edge chipsets.

This partnership promises to redefine the XR landscape by delivering innovative, high-performance devices that cater to both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences.

To be mentioned, the specific launch dates for Samsung and LG have not been determined, but they are expected to enter the market as early as the first half of next year.

Hugo Swat, Vice President and Head of XR Division at Qualcomm Technology Said,

  • “I cannot reveal the details, but we are collaborating with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. LG has a lot of expertise in various fields. “We are involved in the glass sector, and Samsung has made a lot of progress since the announcement of collaboration with Qualcomm and Google.”

However, Samsung Electronics and LG are expected to make XR devices such as Meta’s Quest or Apple’s Vision Pro based on 3rd generation chips. In particular, it’s likely that in addition to products worn on the head with a form factor that can be worn like glasses will be released.

The partnership between Samsung and LG to create XR headsets powered by Qualcomm chipsets is a monumental step in the evolution of extended reality technology.
