Samsung and DISH Wireless collaborate to announce virtual open RAN 5G network

Samsung and DISH network corporation collaborate to introduce a Virtual Open RAN 5G network. The companies have launched Samsung-backed sites for the DISH Wireless 5G network, marking the start of Samsung’s role in the operator’s nationwide rollout.

Samsung initially shipped 24,000 Open RAN-compliant radios and 5G virtualized RAN (VRAN) software solutions by the end of 2022. With this, the companies are accelerating DISH Network deployment across the US to provide reliable and fast nationwide coverage to DISH Wireless network users.
