According to a recent report, the Indian government is planning to apply two common types of charging ports for mobiles and wearable devices. Among these, the USB C ports will go with smartphones, tablets, and laptops whereas the other common charger is for wearables.

Taking two common types of charging solutions into consideration, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has come up with top-quality criteria for USB Type-C charging ports, and that’s the reason why the European Union has mandated USB Type-C charging support.

If we especially talk about Samsung, so the Korean tech firm will not get troubled a lot if this rule is ordered as the company has already embraced USB Type C for its smartphones. So it will only need to make changes in the charging technology of its wearables.

Consumer Affairs Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh said –

“In the last meeting, a broad consensus had emerged among stakeholders on the adoption of USB Type – C as a charging port for, smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. The BIS has notified standards for Type C charger,”
