Google will stop releasing Chrome updates on some Samsung devices

Google Chrome on Samsung phones is a popular web browser, which usually comes pre-installed or available for download on Android smartphones. With new updates, Google keeps on optimizing Chrome App performance to offer a better user experience on Samsung devices.

However, this seems to have come to an end for some Galaxy device owners, yes, Google revealed that the next major update for Chrome will only be available on devices running Android 8.0 Oreo or newer.

It means, those who are using Samsung Galaxy devices that are running Android Nougat or any version older, will not receive any Chrome updates from Google. However, Google hasn’t directly provided an exact date, but we can assume that it could be December 6.

Google will release its next big Chrome update for mobile devices and Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs on December 6. Just to be clear, Chrome will not stop working for the older versions of Android after support ends – they will simply stop getting updates.

However, this decision may raise concerns among users who rely on Google Chrome as their preferred web browser. Because they will not be able to enjoy new features and offerings.
