Google streamlines permissions for Wear OS

For example, have you ever downloaded an app to your smartwatch that requested consent for various things, which you did not give when you installed the app on your phone? Frustrating, isn’t it? To make this whole thing easier, a new feature called “Unlock with Discover” is now being developed by Google based on your demands.

Imagine this: Over time you’re using your favorite running app to track your phone’s location. Once the update is released the permission code for the WearOS version of the fitness app will be programmed automatically and as a result, you won’t need to tap on your phone and proceed with the process.

How is it; That setting is present in the Pixel Watch Companion app area but has the ‘Sync permissions from phone’ option. This allows for different identical permissions to be granted on the same device which is quite a treat for anyone dealing with additional devices like phones.

Currently disabled on all Wear OS devices but the Pixel Watch, Google will roll out this feature to everyone on the Pixel Watch in the coming months. This in turn reflects Google’s effort to push the user experience bar of its platform to a higher level. Thus, if you’ve ever been enjoying music on a WearOS app with repeated requests for permissions, it won’t be long before the experience becomes more friction-free the next time.
