Google seems to ditch Nearby Share naming in favor of Quick Share

According to the information, Google is preparing to ditch the Nearby Share branding that the company has used since 2020. This news came as one user on X revealed that the latest GMS v23.50.13 update renamed the Nearby Share to Quick Share.

The tipster added, as soon as she installed the latest update a notification reportedly appeared informing of the rebranding. Alongside the new Quick Share name, the service has also been given a new icon to give a refreshed look to the rebranded feature.

To be mentioned, it’s currently unclear what Google has in its mind with this rebranding, but we may expect to get some official information in the coming days. Accordingly, this change is appearing in a beta version of Play Services as of now and may take some time to become available for individuals.
