Samsung Galaxy S21 second April 2023 update update

As we move towards the One UI 6 Beta, it feels outstanding that the Galaxy S21 series is the oldest flagship on Samsung’s Android 14 upgrade list. The lineup came pre-installed with Android 11, and impressively, Android 14 is the third but not the last major update.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series consists of three models including the S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. Initially, the devices were supported for three major upgrades, but later, the company extended the OS support for another year, taking the lifespan to 4 generations.

Sadly, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series are not eligible for the Android 14 update. It makes the Galaxy S21 series the oldest flagship on Samsung’s Android 14 upgrade list. Next year, the phones will get another major OS upgrade in the form of Android 15.

The South Korean tech giant is expected to release the One UI 6 Beta in the third week of July. Initially, the company will announce it for the Galaxy S23 series, and later, it will be expanded to the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy S21 series flagships.

In 2022, the Stable One UI 5.0 started to rollout to the Galaxy S22 series in late October, while expansion to other models began in the first week of November. Talking about the Stable One UI 6.0 update, Samsung could make it official by October this year.

Galaxy S21 FE is included too

Samsung treats Galaxy S21 FE the same as the Galaxy S21 series flagships. Interestingly, the S21 FE will get major upgrades up to Android 16, thanks to Samsung for releasing it early with the new OS at that time. The device may not get One UI 6 Beta, while the Stable release could happen in November.
