Samsung Android 14 (One UI 6) to bring passkeys to apps, including Dashlane

Samsung One UI 6.0 update most likely bring support for passkeys to apps including Dashlane. Google’s working on Android 14 development, which will unlock passkey support for native applications and is planned for public release in August 2023.

Galaxy devices will get Android 14 OS with a big One UI 6.0 upgrade, starting later this year. Samsung is expected to offer the passkeys feature to Galaxy devices with the major One UI 6.0 update. However, it’s reported that it will take a little more time for apps and websites to start adopting passkeys.

Apart from Dashlane, there will be more applications that get Passkeys support as Android 14 unlocks support for passkeys within third-party apps. It’s worth mentioning that another password manager platform 1Password recently announced the arrival of the Passkeys feature.

Dashlane explains that users can simply create a passkey using their fingerprint instead of entering a password. The fingerprint ties the authentication action to the user of the device, which prevents anyone else from creating and using passkeys on this specific device.

Here’s how the Dashlane passkeys feature will look:
