Android 13 usage share exceeds 12%, Google should thank Samsung

Android 13 operating system market distribution share reached 12 percent globally, per April 2023 stats. It’s a big growth as compared to 5 percent in January 2023, well, have you received the latest Android updates?

Among Android devices, Android 13’s market share has more than doubled, from 5 percent to 12.1%. It’s a big growth, which Google’s latest mobile operating system gained in approx eight months of its initial release.

Android 12 took an entire year to reach 13.3 percent market.

Stats show that Android 11 is still the widely used operating system, powering 23.5 percent of mobile devices internationally. That’s ahead of Android 12 and Android 12L’s combined 16.5 percent share.

Samsung Android 13

After the launch of Android 13, Samsung played important role in spreading the availability of Google’s new mobile platform. Within 2022, the company upgraded millions of Galaxy models (phones & tablets) with the latest operating system.

From January to March 2023, Samsung made Android 13 widely available for eligible Galaxy devices – not only flagships but mid-range and budgets too. At the same time, Chinese vendors were not so quick in their rollout as budget and older flagships are still running 2021’s Android.
