Android 12-based One UI 4.1 offers lots of new features and customization options to further enhance your user experience, the ability to stack up to 7 smart widgets (including third-party apps) that can be viewed by swiping left or right is among the most noticeable change that the company brings.
Numerous Galaxy smartphones have gotten the taste of One UI 4.1 but these Smart Widgets are limited to Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 owners only. Meanwhile, Samsung Smart Widgets have now appeared in Galaxy Tab S8.
Recently, 9to5Google has noticed a new ‘Smart Widget’ item at the very top of the Widgets list on the Standard Galaxy Tab S8 running the March 2022 security patch. On expansion, it reveals three sizes such as 2×2, 4×1, and 4×2.
- Combine widgets to save space and get timely information on your Home screen:
Among these three, the 2×2 sized Widget is not expandable whereas, the other two are resizable enough to fit on the entire home screen. Also, you can access any available customization options for the current widget, remove it, or add a new one by long-pressing on a grouping.
- Rotate widgets automatically to show you the most relevant information:
You can rotate widgets as you do on the phone by swiping left or right, with an indicator at the bottom noting how many are available. Well, this seems a recent addition that have been installed with the April 2022 update.
