Samsung One UI 5.0 ‘Extract text’ feature appeared on One UI 4.1.1

Samsung has launched the Android 13 beta testing program for the Galaxy S22 series devices in select markets. One UI 5.0 software is based on the new operating system and brings many new features, including “Extract Text”, but also seen in One UI 4.1.

Highlighted by tipster IceUniverse, the Galaxy Z Fold 12 smartphone running Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 brings the same “Extract Text” feature as the One UI 5.0 beta based on Android 13. Extract text feature

Once the text is recognized by the software, you can get options to copy, translate and share it as well as you will be able to paste the result into a message, email, or document instead of typing it. As One UI 4.1.1 also offers similar functionality, Samsung may bring it to more galaxies before One UI 5.0.

In addition, the new One UI version also shows suggestions based on text when it appears in an image in Gallery, Camera, or other apps. For example, if you take a picture of a sign with a phone number or web address, you can tap to call that number or visit the site without any hassle.

One UI 4.1.1

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable devices that come pre-loaded with Android 12L/12-based One UI 4.1.1 software. It is a marginally upgraded version of Android 12-based One UI 4.1 and brings some additional features and improvements.
