No signs of MediaTek Soc debut

It has long been rumored that Samsung will be using a MediaTek processor in the Galaxy S22 Fan Edition. But now tipster claims that the company has no such plans and will only use Exynos or Snapdragon chipsets in the Galaxy S22 FE.

Samsung is expected to ship MediaTek’s Mobile Application Processor (AP) for this year’s Galaxy S22 FE. Until now, the company has been using MediaTek’s AP to budget the Galaxy A series on a limited basis. This means that Exynos AP, developed by Samsung, will lose further impact in the AP market.

Samsung is trying to load MediaTek’s AP on Galaxy S22 Fan Edition (FE) and Galaxy S23, which will be released in the second half of 2022. MediaTek is expected to be used in almost half of the Galaxy S22 FE and Galaxy S23 smartphones sold in Asia. A.P.

Samsung continued to use Qualcomm AP and Exynos AP for its premium smartphone lineup. For mid-to-end smartphones, the MediaTek AP is primarily used to reduce costs and support competitive pricing. So this is the first time that Mediatek APs has used a premium Samsung smartphone.

MediaTek AP stands for medium to low priced smartphones under US$400 in the market. However, the company’s next-generation premium mobile AP Dimension 9000, which was released in early 2022, has received favorable reviews, encouraging it to actively target the premium AP market.

In 2022, the foundry division of Samsung decided to increase its market share by mass production of the Exynos chip manufactured using the industry’s first 3-nm process. As the Korean tech giant’s foundry technology is at the forefront of the industry, it is increasing its strength in product yield and price competitiveness.
