Samsung Galaxy S21 gets Android 13/One UI 5.0 update for carrier-unlocked units in US

Samsung is extending the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update to carrier-unlocked units of the Galaxy S21 series in the US. The latest update brings a bunch of advanced features along with a user interface and several improvements to the device.

According to the official changelog, One UI 5.0 allows you to customize your lock screen in different ways, now you can personalize wallpaper, clock style, notification settings, and more in one place with live preview.

The company has gone one step further to bring users more wallpaper options with an improved wallpaper and styles section. Plus, it’s now easier to find the perfect theme for your phone with 16 color palettes and original colors.

In addition, the home screen has a new Stack Widgets function, just drag and drop and select the application to create a set of widgets, and you can instantly create an application folder, and multiple applications can be moved from one screen to a different one.

Multitasking just got easier with One UI 5.0 software, now you can just swipe up the screen to open any app in a split-screen view or popup. It’s also easier to manage useful settings with new Connected Devices, Modes and Routines, and the Security and Privacy menu in Settings.

Many Samsung apps also offer a host of new features. For example, the camera is getting a new watermark feature, a histogram in pro mode, a help guide in pro mode, and more. Meanwhile, galleries are getting new and improved editing tools, extracting text from image features, and more.

Apart from these, the One UI 5.0 update brings the ability to set different call backgrounds for each contact so that you can easily see who is calling and the ability to disable RAM Plus so that you can save the internal memory of your phone.

For US carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra models, Samsung is rolling out a stable Android 13 update with One UI 5.0 version numbers ending in DVK3. You can now install the latest changes by going to Settings >> Software Update.
