Samsung Galaxy Note 20 August 2022 update in the US

Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone users await the announcement of the One UI 5 beta program, while Samsung has now started distributing the August 2022 security update to carrier-unlocked units in the US.

As per the information, the latest Samsung August 2022 security update PDA comes with build versions: N981U1UEU2FVG5 and N986U1UEU2FVG5 for Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra respectively.

As always, the new security patch includes fixes for multiple CVEs and SVEs to ensure better security on Samsung devices. In addition to the latest security patches, the firmware may include fixes for some unknown bugs and system stability enhancements.

Samsung Android 13

Samsung was rumored to launch Android 13-based One UI 5. Beta activity for the Galaxy S22 series in the third week of last month. Although the company did not begin a beta activity, it was later reported that there would be a private event for select users.

Seeing such rumors, Samsung’s moderators came forward and dismissed the fast-spreading rumors. Meanwhile, there will be a new activity during the One UI 5 beta testing program called Value Up, an event planned specifically for users active in the community.

For now, you can check for the August 2022 update on your Galaxy Note 20 by following the steps below:

  • Open Settings
  • Scroll down and tap Software updates
  • Hit the Download and install button

Galaxy Note 20

Back in August 2020, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones for consumers. This was the last time the company had launched two S Pen-supported devices simultaneously, however, later, the vendor announced the end of the Galaxy Note line.

These devices came with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 software pre-installed and are eligible for three major OS upgrades. Starting with Android 11-based One UI 3, Samsung rolled out the Android 12-based One UI 4 update last year, however, support will end with the arrival of Android 13-based One UI 5.
