On June 20, 2022, Samsung officially announced the new ViewFinity S8 4K monitor globally. The device is specialized for creative professionals who require color accuracy and flexibility including content creators, graphic designers, and more.
Samsung ViewFinity S8 4K monitor is available in South Korea starting today and other countries’ users can soon purchase it also a portmanteau of ‘View’ and ‘Infinity’ is a new name for Samsung’s high-resolution monitor lineup.
ViewFinity S8 4K, 27 inches model is available at KRW 720,000 (~$558) while the 32 inches variant costs KRW 820,000 (~$635). Samsung hasn’t revealed the price and launch date for other markets.
It has an IPS LCD display with 4k resolution which creates vibrant color reproduction and contrasts while working on the most complex visual and design projects. A Matte Display is applied on the top of the panel, reducing light reflection even when not using a monitor hood to provide a distraction-free working environment.
Moreover, the product offers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 5ms grey-to-grey response time. It can cover up to 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, support up to 1.07 billion colors, and come with HDR10+ compatibility.
Further, it provides enhanced functionality to create efficient workflows. It can be used as an all-in-one dock for a desktop or laptop for a simplified workstation in the home or office.
The monitor has an HDMI 2.0 port, DisplayPort, and Ethernet port. It can be connected with a USB Type-C cable that enables fast charging with a display signal, 10Gbps data transfer, faster internet speeds via an Ethernet 6 connection, and up to 90W of power.
Moving on, the device has a height-adjustable stand that can tilt, swivel, and pivot the screen. Thanks to VESA 100 x 100 mount, you can also attach the ViewFinity S8 to a wall or your own monitor arm.
However, the company also said that the ViewFinity S8 professional monitor is made with repurposed ocean-bound plastics to reduce marine waste and minimize the environmental footprint while using more recycled plastics to produce its display products.
