Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset is set to launch on May 20

For a long ago Qualcomm was busy fabricating the next generation of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and many manufacturers are waiting for that. Finally, the date has arrived on which the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ will be launched.

According to new information, On May 20, an online launch conference will be held starting at 20:00, in that Qualcomm’s plus variant the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset will be launched.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset is built on Taiwan-based TSMC’s 4nm semiconductor fabrication process. And since it is a Plus edition, it is speculated that it will be more efficient than the regular version.

Further, various brands including Xiaomi, Motorola, Lenovo, OnePlus, etc are set to enter the markets powering the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor with the first smartphones powered by it expected to launch by June.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will also feature the same chipset but these will not be the first to use it. Instead, the company will launch these two phones sometime in August.

Moreover, the upcoming foldable will come with further improvements over their predecessors. These will come with a larger display, enhanced camera experience, powerful battery, and some changes in design as well.

However, several users have reported issues with the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 processor producing heat very quickly and it is expected that its Plus variant will not have these issues. We might get more information about the upcoming flagship chipset in the coming days.
