On May 20, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform alongside the premium Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. It is said that the first-generation Snapdragon 7 will be commercially available in the second quarter of this year.
It is the first 7-series platform to support the seventh-generation Qualcomm AI engine. Face recognition detection accuracy has been improved by 25%, and it supports 360-degree face detection. Moreover, the Snapdragon 7 is also the first 7-series platform to support 200MP camera support.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip supports single-frame progressive HDR features and has significantly improved image quality. In addition, this chipset uses the same Qualcomm trust management engine as the Snapdragon 8 for the first time and has passed the Android Ready SE certification, its manufactured on a 14-bit triple ISP.
If we talk about overall and gaming performance, the GPU graphics rendering speed of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is 20% higher than that of the Snapdragon 778G. It supports the Qualcomm Adreno image motion engine, taking power consumption and frame rate into account.
Additionally, the new SoC supports GPUs such as Game Quick Touch and variable resolution rendering, also, the game touch response speed increased by more than 20%.
Further, this chip supports Snapdragon Sound listening technology, which can achieve anti-whistling and real-time audio environment/scene dynamic volume adjustment in games.
The Snapdragon 7 is the first 7-series platform that integrates the Snapdragon X62 5G modem and RF system conforming to the Release16 standard, with a maximum downlink rate of 4.4Gbps.
