New Samsung patent shows smartphone with rear transparent display

Even after making several innovative smartphones like Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung is regularly planning new designs and impressive features for its upcoming smartphones. Recently, the company applied for a new patent regarding the rear-facing transparent display.

On January 14, 2022, Samsung filed a patent under the title ‘Electronic devices including transparent displays, which was officially approved on August 25, 2022. However, the company has published this patent with publication number WO/2022/17716 and international application. No. PCT/KR2022/000731.

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Samsung will use the transparent display device mentioned in the patent for products such as smartphones.

The patent describes a new Samsung device with a transparent display on the back of the smartphone. The second display can be fully or partially open and similar to AOD (Always On Display). The second display smartphone isn’t brand new, but the new patent reveals a unique display design that can be used to display logos, messages at a glance, and more options.

As you can see from the below-mentioned images, the second display of the smartphone is sometimes seen placed on the right side of the camera module, in the middle of the smartphone like the company logo, and on the rear left side.
